Introduction

The Summer School will take place from September 29 - October 4, 2019 at Wolffhotel in Kopp, a village in the Vulkaneiffel southwest of Bonn.

The typical participant will be a graduate student or postdoc, not necessarily an expert on the topic but interested in jointly learning the subject.

Participants will be required to prepare a 50min lecture on some topic in advance, and submit a 4-6 page summary (see latex macro above) of their topic prior to the summer school, at the latest by September 4. 2019. The topics are listed here.

The Summer School is funded by the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics.

Sunday, September 29, will be the arrival day. From Monday to Friday the participants will give the lectures that they have prepared in advance. Departure will be after lunch on Friday, October 4.

Registration

Space is limited to 24 participants.

The Hausdorff Center funds provide for accommodation. A contribution towards traveling expenses may be available upon request.

(Update April 3: We have many more applicants than slots and will accept no further applicants) Please provide in the email a short statement out your professional status (graduate student, postdoc, etc), your area of research and your motivations for participating in the summer school.

Please also indicate your preference for a topic on which to prepare a lecture. This does not guarantee the topic will be assigned to you, but the organizers will make an effort to do so. The organizers are happy to answer questions on the assigned topics anytime: goncalve at math.uni-bonn.de.

Students from Bonn may take credit for a seminar S4B2 in WS 19/20.
